First day of work (what we call work)

Today was the first day of work. Our mission today was building garbage bins. We woke up, or tried to wake up at 6:30. We wnt to the family center and ate breakfast.....Eww Matt just found a HUGE cockroach in his bed, that's so gross. Anyways after we ate we started working. It was crazy. Everyone had hammers, drills, nails, and saws. It was a bit scary at first, but then everyone pulled together and started working. We had to take apart, pretty much destroy the old garbage bins to build the new ones. Everyone was tearing into those and Rachel and I went with Tye to fix the broken window in the guys room. After we fixed the window and th boy were happy, Rachel and I went to help with the garbage bens. I got to set on top of one of them and help Tye screw down the metal roof. Then Tammy and I painted one of the bins. We all worked together really well. Sometimes Biscuit the dog would come and visit us,and we would get off task, but other than that it was great. Then we ate lunch and played basketball and some of us rested. Then we went to the talent show. It was in a casino, but we had to walk in a walk way were anyone could go. The talent show was pretty neat. There was kids singing in choctaw, and one girl did a choctow dance, we thought that was really neat. Later after that we came back to the dorm and did devotionals and now we are supposed to be in bed, but the guys are throwing a blow up baed that's supposed to be in the pool, and a pillow that's a hard as a rock. I'm oing to end this before i get hit in the face by a pillow that feels like a boulder.

And we just found one of the windows busted out in our dorms! thats kinda freaky....but anyways. and now the lights flicker.... We're all kinda freaking out. but the services were really nice. After the second service the paster took use out to lunch. it was very nice. we also went and got some supplies for our first project. We start tomorrow. i'm really excited to find out how the rest of the week goes. but so far i'm having so much fun. it's supposed to be really hot tomorrow. and i'm not crazy about that. We have a guy named Eric working with us tomorrow. he is a choctaw. and we heard that the other group from Florida are having some vehicle trouble. So keep them in your prayers.

A stop to stretch, just so happened to be Graceland. Surprise!!!

We all woke up at a very early time to leave for the mission project. Most of us arrived at 5:00 a.m. at the church except for Zeke coming in around 5:20 a.m. Everything went well and smooth until we hit Arkansas. It was flat, barren, and as far as I could tell, no human interaction. It was like this until we came upon Memphis, Tennessee. Tye and a few other people saw the exit to get off for Graceland. We decided it was a necessary stop on the way to Mississippi. We got a few pictures that show the whole group in front of a Graceland sign. We didn't want to spend anymore money than we had to so we did not go on a tour of Elvis's house. Yet we got a pictures of his house from what we could see. Once we got near the town we were surrounded by coniferous forests and most of us claimed we thought we saw a Sasquatch. After a 13 hour van ride we finally arrived in Philadelphia, Mississippi. We took a slight sight see around the reservation, unpacked and took a trip to Walmart. Since we got here July 4th we went and saw fireworks. Now I am going to bed because we have two church services to go to tommorow.
